Wonderful Spring 2016!

Hard to believe 2016 is already underway! Spring officially arrived March 20, 2016, even though in Oklahoma we already were experiencing Spring weather the end of January and throughout February. Definitely a winter miracle!

At the end of last year, much changed on my end with getting Alicia Rose Shares, my official author’s website, completely created the way I had envisioned. It felt good to remove the words “this page no longer under construction” as each page became complete. This also meant updating a lot within the pages of this blog website; finished that task December 2015. Felt good to end 2015 this way.

End of March 2016, due to a change that involved an opportunity removing the payment processor I normally use for their website, I bid that particular venue farewell even though it was a good and honest website. It saddened me to leave for it was also a trusted advertising venue I had used since 2011. Thankfully there are other ways to advertise one’s website, so time to move on,and updated Alicia’s tips and money making opportunities for people on a budget page by deleting the information about this money making opportunity. This was the first of this kind of change I have done, so added the reason for the change to the bottom of this particular page as a way of informing. Trying to prevent a misunderstanding.

I wholeheartedly appreciate those who regularly visit this blog and Alicia Rose Shares. It is an honor to have a gigantic readership developed and loyal visitors. I am very grateful for all visitors to this blog and my official author’s website, many thanks to YOU!

Another wholesome change in social networking, I am now on Twitter! It is wonderful to connect with more people via this venue. I still participate on BOBL, Facebook, Google+, LinkedIn and Wazzub Community. I am very visible these days while enjoying interacting with many domestically and internationally (global!).

I have been social networking since 2006, I have learned much while interacting with others; even made some wonderful friendships. When asked, I usually make the following recommendations:

1. Share only what you want the public to know. Anything private, do not put online. Be wise by not sharing personal information that could lead to identity theft or robbery such as phone number, mailing address, the bank you use, type of credit cards in your wallet, when you are going on vacation, where you were born, etc. These types of things regard top-secret, share with NO ONE!

2. If someone you only know from online wants to Skype with you, be cautious. Make sure you have a good idea who they are before agreeing to this, make them social network with you for at least 2 years before agreeing. Most undesirable types usually give up within the first to second year of networking with someone. There are, however, exceptions so be very careful.

3. Meeting in person can be very dangerous if you only know the person from online. I personally have never done this, but those I know who have, first do background checks and after 2 or more years of socializing online bring others with them (safer in numbers) for the first meet-up. It is my understanding this is the safest route other than abstaining from any in person contact.

4. Do not share a cell phone number if only know the person from online. I have had friends who regretted doing this. There are people who can get very pornographic with texts and images, or want to talk dirty on a cell phone. Best to keep one’s cell phone strictly for friends and family you actually know off-line.

These recommendations are from what I have learned by others’ mistakes or my own errors, plus by using common sense. Do not be afraid to make friends online, just be wise with how you go about this. Embrace the happy friendships made. They are amazing!

Wonderful Spring to YOU! Thank you for visiting,

My loyal visitors, I would like to thank you for continuing to read my author’s blog, plus continue to check the pages so you do not miss any new content or revisions. In January and April 2015, I went through each of the pages and updated them. Added and deleted content to ensure the evergreen aspect of this website.

I sincerely apologize for not writing a blog post since June 2014. A lot had to do with keeping Alicia’s Bookstore and more updated, adding new content (still have more to add) plus maintaining the website as the patrons except. Another aspect for lack of blogging on WordPress was working on Undermining Alex. I place publishing the sequel to Just Alex as top priority. It is not easy to write a book series compared to individual books. I am learning a lot about writing and editing a Science Fiction book series. There is much to maintain consistent per each book. Writing a book series takes more time than I expected, but it is sorting itself out as perseverance produces a quality sequel.

In the interim, I also published new articles on HubPages and as the Oklahoma City Health and Happiness Examiner

. It is very rewarding having loyal readers with the same topical diversified tastes. They have been very encouraging and inspirational. I am very appreciative, and enjoy feedback very much.

2015 has begun at the speed of light for me. Yes, as we all have, real life things off line has kept me from blogging with you as well. Unfortunately, real life issues, concerns, family time, etc. must come first.

There are many things I have planned for my official blog; much I would like to share with you in 2015. Goals have been set (annual, monthly and weekly). I look forward to checking them off as each are completed. May you be successful in completing your 2015 goals, or keeping your New Year’s Resolutions (or both).

Thank you very much for visiting. All visits are immensely appreciated. Best Spring 2015 wishes for you and your family!

Enjoying Spring and Happy Memorial Day Weekend!

This spring has been filled with many changes, challenges and good experiences. Looking back at the goals achieved as well as the new ones made, I can see where my visionary mindset has truly taken me into the magnificent direction that has gifted me a sense of success, happiness and a feeling of being accomplished. This spring, I noticed the beginning of reaping the benefits of delayed gratification as a self-employed entity which continues to be sweetly rewarding. I further had the honor of helping someone grow into a fellow author and delivered appreciation toward many others. This spring of 2012, has been enlightening, inspirational and fantastic!

Receiving blessings during springtime is delightful; a great way to begin the year. Spring is about rebirth and renewal. Many see spring as the time to begin something great and new. Animals usually naturally have their babies during springtime. Spring is a time to enjoy the beautiful new greenery and spring flowers. Even the spring rains grant those in agriculture a chance for a successful harvest. Spring is a time for rejoicing and seeing the year brimming with limitless possibilities.

May, being a month where spring definitely is in full force, usually has warmer weather where my dog can enjoy the great outdoors longer. This means much to him for this beloved dachshund loves being outdoors enjoying the warm sunshine, literally basking in it.  This brings me to the delicious thought of the traditional Memorial Day barbeque that many enjoy with family and friends. Where I live this particular weekend at the end of May normally has great outdoor activity weather, sunny and bright.

Honoring Memorial DayThis year Memorial Day is Monday May 28th, which makes Memorial Day Weekend 26th – 28th. I truly believe this particular Memorial Day is extremely important considering all going on in the Middle East (Israel, Pakistan, Libya, Syria and Afghanistan). Many of us know someone or have a beloved one who is either currently serving in the armed forces or who has given their life in service. Most of us have had a friend and/or family member who have been in the US military, now a veteran. On behalf of all of these brave and gallant men and women, I plan taking Memorial Day off in their remembrance with much gratitude filling my heart. I shall take time to remember their noble sacrifice for the good of our country and its citizens. Those in the US Military do great deeds! I thank each one of them.

Wishing all a wonderful Memorial Day Weekend!

March is the month that welcomes Spring

Spring is right around the corner. The Spring Solstice is March 20th this year (2012). Another all time favorite for many is the Irish St. Patrick’s Day on March 17th. This year it luckily falls on a Saturday; more traditional merriment and revelry to be had by many good Irish folk and their descendents.

March is also the month many begin considering the fun-filled task of Spring Cleaning. March is National Nutrition Month. 2012’s theme is Get Your Plate in Shape. The best way to celebrate National Nutrition Month is to eat well-balanced colorful meals throughout the month of March. Since March further means warmer weather, family picnics and barbeques are right around the corner!

March is definitely more than the month most spring one hour forward with the clock. Even my dachshund is enjoying the early Spring we are experiencing with the Redbuds already in bloom.

May March and your Spring be filled with good times.

Enjoy!
